Tri-C Arts Prep Announcement

It is my great pleasure to inform you of the formal rollout of the new ArtsPrep Program of Cuyahoga Community College’s Division of Creative Arts.  Beginning on August 29, 2009, all three of Tri-C’s campuses will be teaming with students of all ages taking courses and lessons from some of Ohio’s most distinguished teaching artists.

The ArtsPrep Program consists of five areas of programming: The Dance Academy, The Music Academy, The Theatre Academy, The Visual and Digital Media Academy, and our school Outreach program.  Accompanying this letter is the ArtsPrep Fall 2009 brochure which outlines all of our offerings for this Fall.  However, this is only the beginning for ArtsPrep.   As our student numbers expand so too will our program offerings, culminating with the establishment of performance/exhibition ensembles in each Academy. With three strategically located campuses, Tri-C is uniquely positioned to serve the artistic needs of students throughout Northeast Ohio.

We have the ability to guide students through a program of study that is taught by college level instructors with the skill to teach their craft in an age appropriate way, while providing their students with the experience of being on a college campus.  We are committed to making college a necessary expectation in the lives of all our students, both young and old. It is also our hope that we can serve your program by providing your upcoming students with additional instruction not offered in your school.  After they then have achieved a level of competency, we can offer them the ability to accelerate in their art form, and eventually take college level courses for College and High School credit simultaneously…for free!  In fact, should certain criteria be met, it is even possible to arrange for some of those courses to be taught right at your school.

I encourage you to take a look at our program; its mission, vision, and course offerings; and ask you to refer any students who would benefit from our instruction to the contact information included in the brochure.  I believe they will find our offerings exceptional and our prices affordable, with scholarships available for qualified students.  We will continue to register students throughout this initial term, so there is no cut off time at this point when a student can begin their lessons or classes.  They can also download the brochure and registration form from our website at: http://tricpresents.com/ArtsPrep_Landing.asp , or call the ArtsPrep offices at 216-987-6145.

Thank you for your support and for all the work you do for Ohio’s children.

Sincerely,

John Eby
